Principal Engineer, David Blythe, draws on over 15 years of experience as a design, development and test engineer in the OEM Automotive and Heavy Vehicle industries.  Such employers over that period includes Holden, Bosch Engine management systems, Mitsubishi, Thiess, Drivetrain Systems International in Australia and Ford and Roush Technologies in the UK.

  

David worked on exhaust, intake and transmission systems early in his career, and then specialised in Engine Calibration for many years. He has traveled to many parts of the world with his work testing prototype vehicles giving him a broad knowledge on the automotive industry both in Australia and around the world.

Over that time David has had a development 'hand' in many vehicles - Holden Commodore VX, VY, VZ, VE, VE SIDI, Statesman WH, WK, WM Captiva, Astra, Vectra, Zafira, Barina, Monaro, Pontiac G8, 2010 Camaro, Ford Ka, Fiesta, Mitsubishi 380 and more.

 

At DB Autotech we are also passionate about classic cars and Historic racing.  We actively support these by sponsoring sprint events and assisting other enthusiasts with technical / compliance information for their projects.

 

David also is a member of the Westfield Car Club and drives a Westfield clubman in Track Sprints throughout the year including Gatton, Wheels on Wide Bay,  Leyburn and Oakey.  In 2009 we received trophies for 1st in Class at Leyburn and Oakey and also came 6th in the Top Ten Shootout at Oakey, giving him an overall place of 8th fastest out of 139 vehicles.
